Specialist SMSF Adviser Training Course Agenda

RG 146 Specialist SMSF Adviser Course with Grant Abbott

By 2015 SMSF assets will top $1 trillion and SMSF accountants and financial planners will only be able to provide advice on SMSFs having met specialist competency standards.  To that end the government reviews into SMSF have recommended that by 2012 any person providing SMSF advice to clients – whether an accountant or financial planner should have completed specialist RG 146 SMSF adviser training.  At the moment many financial planners have completed generalist SMSF training however the Cooper Panel has recognised that this is not sufficient given the $400 billion in SMSF assets – those planners will need to update their competency standards.

In addition the Government has announced that accountants will need to be licensed to provide SMSF advice by 2012 which will include being trained to the relevant specialist competency standard.

The SMSF Strategies RG 146 specialist SMSF Adviser Course conducted by Grant Abbott is registered with ASIC.  Unlike other SMSF adviser courses and Financial Planning courses and diplomas the SMSF Strategies course is set at a specialist level ensuring that participants can read, understand and apply the law as well as the read and understand a fund trust deed – key components of specialist SMSF advice.  This will be the requisite standard in years to come.
